The story continues
Hello Troon!

Overlooking Troon from Ballast Bank |
For those of you new to my blog
"Welcome" and for those who so faithfully followed my last blog - 'A
summer of Serving' 2016 therudges.blogspot.co.uk then
"Welcome Back!"
On returning back to Macclesfield following our 3 months in Irvine during the summer of 2016, we sensed in our hearts that sometime in the future we would return to serve God on the West coast of Scotland - and well, here we are!
On Monday 27th November 2017 we said 'goodbye' to what had been our family home for the past 31years.
Boxes were packed and furniture dismantled; we said our farewells to friends and family and off we went to live in a new country, be part of a new church family and begin a new adventure!
So here we are, back in Scotland and our story and journey with God continues....we have found ourselves living in a beautiful part of Scotland - the West Coast, serving within a loving new church family and becoming part of a very welcoming community.

In conversation I often have to check myself as I say glibly "I cannot
believe we are here" and yet when I look back at God's hand on our journey
to get us to this point, I should not act in disbelief, but in thankfulness and
affirmation.
We are blessed to be living in the
church manse, a cosy warm bungalow which can only be likened to the Tardis! It
is deceptively spacious, therefore we have not had to put any of our furniture
into storage - a huge bonus! Everywhere we walk to from the manse appears to be
5 minutes away or as David's pedometer reads - 0.3miles - so that covers the
Church, the GP, the Dentist, the Chemist, the abundance of Coffee shops,
Morrisons, the Post Office and the Railway station - and of course not
forgetting the beach!
To start to unravel our whole story
(going back many years) would take more than a blog post - it would be more
like writing a novel! I'll maybe save that for another day. What matters now is
that we are here in beautiful Troon serving God, His people and the local
community.
I would like to say 'thank you' to all
those who encouraged me to re-instate the 'blogging', including a special
call-out to Colin for giving me the title - 'Tales from a
Pastor's wife.' However, I
must ask that you bear with me as I re-connect with the 'blogging' technology
and forgive me for any errors as I post.
I find it hard to believe that we are now into our 7th week here - and I am so glad that I didn't draw a line under my last blog post from 2016 - for to do such a thing would have played a small part in closing our ears and hearts to what God had in store for us.
This (hopefully) will be the first of
many future blogs of our time here in Scotland; life as a new 'manse family';
and how God continues to work in our lives.
Looking forward to sharing more with
you all very soon!
